The Veterinary Hospital Managers Association's (VHMA's) 2023 compensation and benefits survey reveals that veterinary hospitals are paying their hospital administrators and certified veterinary practice managers higher salaries than in 2021.
Median salaries for hospital administrators increased by approximately 13% to $85,000, while practice managers saw an 8% increase to $65,000. The report also highlights increases in compensation for other non-veterinarian staff and discusses common benefits provided by surveyed practices, such as veterinary care discounts and health insurance contributions. The VHMA suggests that practices are adjusting compensation structures to remain competitive in recruiting and retaining quality team members.
