Friendship Hospital for Animals provides high quality, compassionate veterinary care to the dogs and cats of the Washington D.C. metro area. We provide a full range services including specialty care, urgent and emergency care, and wellness care. Friendship's Specialty departments include critical care, oncology, internal medicine,  neurology/neurosurgery, radiology, pain management and rehabilitation therapy, anesthesiology, surgery, dermatology, cardiology, and ophthalmology. Advanced imaging is on the premises, including a 16-slice CT and 1.5T MRI.  Our in-house laboratory is overseen, by our board-certified clinical pathologist. We are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are seeking a board-certified cardiologist to join our team. A successful applicant should possess effective communication skills, an interest in building relationships with clients and referring veterinarians, and enjoy working in a collaborative, supportive environment. Some locum work may also be available.

 In addition, to seeing patients on appointment, responsibilities include:

  • Consulting on and managing in-hospital patients
  • Mentoring interns 
  • Communicating with clients 
  • Communicating with referring veterinarians
  • Training and mentoring support staff 
  • Attending and participating in rounds and CE

  • Ability to communicate with specialists in managing cases
