VCA Bay Area Veterinary Specialists (BAVS) is seeking a board certified or residency trained Oncologist to join our well-established 24-hour specialty referral practice.

We are proud of our updated facility, which houses a 28 patient ICU, oncology, internal medicine, cardiology, critical care, surgery, and emergency departments.  The hospital is state-of-the-art, equipped with endoscopic and laparoscopic capabilities, ultrasound, telemetry, linear accelerator, C-Arm, CT, and Digital Radiology. We have a strong team of emergency clinicians, and an experienced technical staff. We currently have both electrochemotherapy and radiation therapy as treatment modalities for our patients.

Our Oncology service is busy, with an established caseload for a second doctor.  We are searching for someone who can integrate into a collaborative hospital that provides the highest quality of medicine, while maintaining our focus on work-life balance.

With the creation of VCA’s Pet CancerCare Alliance™, you can be a part of a unique brain trust of over 65 veterinary oncologists and a network of over 35 Pet CancerCare Centers across North America. Our Medical, Radiation and Surgical Oncologists work together to bring advanced treatments, technology and education to all veterinarians by providing collaborative care, research, clinical trials and leadership to help ensure that pets are living their best possible lives.

Located in San Leandro, we are proud to be part of the East Bay community, which includes cities along the eastern shores of the San Francisco Bay. A dynamic and diverse community, San Leandro maintains a safe, small town feel, while offering a wide range of shopping, dining, recreation, miles of shoreline, and easy access to regional parks and nature areas. Downtown San Francisco is only 25 miles away, and easily accessed by both car and public transportation.

As a member of the VCA family, your love for medicine and compassion for pets and people is matched with a commitment to your professional growth. Among the reasons to consider joining VCA include:

• Network of 6,000 doctors, including more than 600 specialists
• Largest provider of private practice internships and residencies in the U.S.
• WOOF University, offering abundant CE for Doctors and Staff
• A robust Clinical Studies program
• Opportunities to give back through strong shelter partnerships and VCA Charities

VCA rewards its team members with a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical/dental/vision coverage, life and disability insurance options, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, continuing education allowance, professional liability coverage, generous personal pet care discounts, and more!
