This position represents the third Oncologist for the hospital and will help to expand the Oncology service to seven days a week.  Under direction from our Medical Director and in collaboration with the rest of the Oncology team, there is abundant opportunity to create a flexible schedule which will allow for almost limitless professional growth.  Responsibilities include mentoring support staff and intern doctors, providing counsel to the other specialists, and collaborating with the referring veterinarian community.

Our 37,500 square foot state of the art hospital is nestled in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, near the Denver metro area.  Our team members range from living in the heart of active, downtown Denver to the retreats of mountain towns only 40 minutes away.  The exponential growth of our area coupled with the majestic and friendly mountain culture provides a uniquely intrinsic balance of career development and life enhancement.  The Denver area benefits from 300+ days of sunshine a year and endless opportunity for independent or community activity. The community is active throughout all seasons, boasting festivals of every kind.

About the culture: Our hospital culture thrives on collaborative & integrative medicine, as we are a hybrid of multiple specialties and a general practice. Our doctors work collectively and symbiotically with each other. In addition, our structure incorporates the support staff of Certified Technicians and Assistants to be part of this camaraderie, working as peers. The underlying mantra of our team is driven by the desire to provide unsurpassed & compassionate patient care along with exceptional client service, both to our external and internal clients. We are invested in making this a career destination for all levels of staff and perpetuating a family atmosphere within the workplace.  WRAH is a teaching hospital, with fourteen rotating intern doctors.  Continuous learning and development is a cornerstone of the hospital culture.

Our Team:  Our busy primary care DVM group refer and co-manage cases with each of the specialty departments. We also have an onsite Board-Certified Anesthesiologist who provides oversight for each individual anesthetic case. Other specialties include Radiology, Dermatology, Emergency / Critical Care, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Theriogenology, Rehabilitation, and Surgery.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal addition to this team will have a deep passion for client education and empathy, as well as a strong interest and belief in an evidence-based clinical approach.  They will thrive in and foster an environment of collaboration, support for the individual as well as the entire hospital team, and patient welfare.  This candidate will possess an unwavering commitment to the highest level of quality medicine as well as client service.  They view a challenge as an opportunity to grow and strive to continuously improve themselves and others.  If this describes you, then this is your hospital.

Diagnostic Capabilities: We offer a wide array of diagnostics, including a 1.5T MRI, 64 slice CT, fluoroscopy, and an onsite reference laboratory which includes a cytologist.

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package plus a desirable work schedule. Interested applicants should be highly motivated to provide the highest quality patient and client care in an environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.

Wheat Ridge is part of the Ethos Veterinary Health network of hospitals, providing our clinicians the opportunity to be part of a larger network of hospitals, but still maintain our distinctive identity. The focus of Ethos is on advancing veterinary medicine, along with providing high quality, compassionate care, which improves the lives of patients and their human companions.
