Small Animal Internist
Veterinary Specialty Center of Sarasota is seeking a full-time board-certified Internist or residency-trained veterinarian to join our state-of-the-art emergency and specialty hospital. We currently operate as a specialty surgical and imaging center. We are expanding our services to internal medicine, emergency medicine, critical care, and additional services in the future. We are looking for an energetic, personable individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to become a valuable member of our veterinary team.
We are currently expanding from a 5,500 square foot surgery, imaging and rehab facility to a 10,000 square-foot multispecialty facility. Our current facility includes dedicated orthopedic and soft tissue ORs, fluoroscopy, 16 slice CT scanner, flexible and rigid endoscopes, fiber optic surgical laser, ultrasound, oxygen cages, SmartFlow patient monitoring, digital radiography, full in-house laboratory capabilities, and a rehabilitation facility with therapeutic ultrasound, UWTM, Shockwave, stance analyzer, and Companion class 4 laser. The expansion will include an interventional radiography suite, dedicated internal medicine treatment room with chemotherapy mix-room in accordance with USP 800 regulations, and fully equipped treatment area and ICU. This is a unique opportunity for the right individual to create an Internal Medicine Service with their unique interests and focus. Interest in a cooperative team-based approach with other departments is highly desired. An interest in interventional radiography procedures is highly desired. An interest in training is also desired for any future internship program. There is a significant demand in the region with ample opportunity to quickly build a stable caseload.
Veterinary Specialty Center will become the only privately owned multi-specialty veterinary hospital on the Gulf-coast of Florida south of Tampa. Our facility will be exclusively focused on specialty and emergency medicine with no primary care.
