Job Details

Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine & Oncology seeks Internists for our busy practices in Annapolis, Columbia, and Towson MD. Come grow with us!

Current and recent residents actively seeking board certification are also encouraged to apply. We are looking for competent, caring, and compassionate professionals. We value a sense of humor and the enjoyment that comes from working with others! We offer a positive and supportive environment demonstrated by our collegial conversations with the other services, interactive morning rounds, and extern mentoring.

The successful candidate will work with board-certified Internists and Oncologists. Most of our doctors work four days per week in clinics (but we can be flexible) and share on call. We do not see new case appointments or take transfers on weekends.

Our Hospital

AVIM&O provides internal medicine and oncology services for the Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC) at our three locations in Maryland. Onsite specialties at CVRC’s three facilities include surgery, cardiology, neurology, imaging, ophthalmology, radiation oncology, emergency medicine and 24/7 ICU services.

We have state-of-the-art equipment, including Olympus 190 series videoendoscopes, multiple rigid scopes, Phillips EPIQ5 ultrasounds, I-Stat, digital cytology, digital radiography, benchtop in-hospital lab systems, and advanced monitoring. Our imaging services provide 16 slice CT and 1.5 Tesla MRI. For those with the interest, AVIM&O also has stenting and laser interventional capabilities at our Columbia location.

Benefits

We offer a generous relocation supplement, continuing education, an allowance for professional dues and licenses, 401K with match, paid time off and sick leave, health insurance (medical, dental and vision), professional liability & legal defense insurance, personal disability insurance (short and long term), a uniform allowance, and employee pet care discount.

About the Community

Maryland, one of the original American colonies, is rich in history, offering a wealth of cities bursting with historical significance. Dubbed the “America in Miniature” due to its variety of landscapes, it is simply nature’s playground. Here, not only can you find the wild rapids of the Potomac River or the sandy beaches of Ocean City, but you can also explore the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains. It is truly an outdoor enthusiast’s dream come true. With so many attractions, unique dining experiences, and a great education system, Maryland is a great place to work and live!
