Job Details

Vista Veterinary Specialists is looking for a Specialty Associate Medical Director to join our hospital.  This position will oversee the specialty side of our practice and will join our Medical Director to round out our leadership team and support our rapidly growing emergency and specialty hospital.

Our hospital is nestled in Sacramento, California.  Sacramento offers a wide variety of cultural and outdoor activities for individuals and families who love 3 season weather.  A short drive will take you to the Napa Valley wine country, the famous ski slopes and pristine beaches of Lake Tahoe, the countless San Francisco offerings, and the stunning northern California coast.  Northern Californians are committed to taking care of each other and ensuring our community stays affordable and enjoyable.  We support our local businesses (small and large) and are known for our fresh farm-to-table eating.

About the culture: Our hospital culture thrives on collaborative & integrative medicine between our emergency department and our specialty services. Our ER doctors work collectively and symbiotically with each other and with our Specialists. In addition, our structure incorporates the support staff of Certified Technicians and Assistants to be part of this camaraderie, working as peers. The underlying mantra of our team is driven by the desire to provide unsurpassed & compassionate patient care along with exceptional client service, both to our external and internal clients. We are invested in making this a career destination for all levels of staff and perpetuating a family atmosphere within the workplace. We offer a wide array of diagnostics, including onsite radiologists, Vimago CT, 1.5 Tesla MRI, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, arthroscopy, laparoscopy/thoracoscopy, and an onsite laboratory.

The Successful Candidate: We seek an individual who is intrigued by challenges and the potential for hospital and team development. The Associate Medical Director is a practicing clinician (estimate 75% clinical time and 25% administrative time) alongside the Vista clinical team.  This leader will be expected to lead by example in maintaining a positive demeanor in all situations. The Associate Medical Director will work in conjunction with the Medical Director, Hospital Services Managers, and the Hospital Director to drive the entire hospital team's progressive development and continuous improvement of patient services. We seek an individual with high emotional intelligence.  The right individual will understand the balance required to support people, patients, and the business.  Success in the role will require a strong ability to listen, confidence in decision-making, and a mindset of continuous learning.

Ethos Veterinary Health: Vista is part of the Ethos Veterinary Health (www.ethosvet.com) network of hospitals, providing our clinicians the opportunity to be part of an extensive hospital network and maintain our own distinctive identity.  Ethos's focus is on advancing veterinary medicine and providing high-quality, compassionate care, which improves the lives of patients and their human companions. Our advancements center around three main areas:

Transformative Science: We focus on driving initiatives that change the biology of disease, resulting in new diagnostics, novel therapies and improved treatments.

Knowledge: We know we are only as good as our teams, so we are committed to continuous learning and growth, ensuring all team members have a path to reaching their fullest potential.

Collaboration: We believe a collaborative approach leads to better outcomes for our patients and more professionally fulfilled medical teams.

Benefits of working at Ethos: Our staff enjoy competitive compensation and benefits including:

* Health & Dental

* FSA/HSA

* 401 (k)

* CE allowance & professional expenses paid

* Sign-on bonus plus moving allowance available

* Growth opportunities at all levels of the organization
