The Centre for Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, invites applications for a Full Professorship (W3) of Equine Medicine (Chair) commencing as soon as possible.

The successful applicant will be the head of the equine clinic and responsible for all disciplines pertaining to equine medicine (internal medicine, surgery, reproduction and other disciplines). The applicant’s activities are expected to extend into teaching, research and administration as well as clinical services. The newly constructed clinic on the Campus in Oberschleißheim is a state-of-the-art facility that is ideally suited to realize the vision of the future chair.

Prerequisites for this position are an outstanding personality with excellent leadership skills and longstanding clinical experience in a discipline or subdiscipline of equine medicine, a university degree in veterinary medicine, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification, teaching skills at university level, excellent academic achievements and a productive and promising research program. International board certification in a discipline of equine medicine is required. Several years of experience in raising third party resources from national and international funding programs are desirable.

According to domestic legal guidelines (TAppV) the successful applicant will be responsible for teaching veterinary students. As communication with students, staff, industry and stakeholder will require knowledge of spoken and written German, it is germane for the successful candidate to demonstrate the sincere willingness to become proficient in the German language.
