Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center (OPVMC) is a veterinary general, emergency and specialty practice that is fully staffed 24 hours a day, and is looking for a board certified or residency trained surgeon to join our growing hospital. OPVMC’s surgery service has a strong diverse caseload, is growing quickly, and we are looking for someone to help support the team environment that we cultivate to improve the surgical expertise we offer to the community.

The current community at OPVMC consists of two boarded internists, one boarded surgeon two residency trained surgeons that limit their practice to surgery, a boarded medical oncologist, a behavior specialist, and twenty three emergency/general practice veterinarians. We also have a remote relationship with a boarded radiologist and a board-certified clinical pathologist.

In 2008 we relocated to a newly remodeled 22,000 sq. ft facility that includes endoscopy, cystoscopy, rhinoscopy, Storz endosurgical equipment, two GE Logiq S8 expert Vet ultrasounds, 64-slice Toshiba Aquilion CT, digital radiography with integrated radiography review, a complete onsite laboratory with digital slide scanning technology for same-day remote board certified clinical pathologist evaluations, and a blood bank. As we have continued to grow, we are now in the process of building a brand new 30,000+ sq/ft state of the art Veterinary Hospital. At our new location we are planning to add an MRI, linear accelerator and rehab department to support our growing practice which currently consists of almost 200 employees! Our new facility will also incorporate many Fear Free elements, as we are currently working towards having all of our staff become Fear Free Certified.  We enjoy a paper-light electronic medical records system that streamlines paperwork, improves record keeping, and facilitates client and referring veterinarian communication.

We have an incredibly loyal, hardworking and dedicated team. Our team also includes a Licensed Veterinary Social Worker. We are committed to the patients and the community, and promote an environment that fosters team learning mixed with a daily dose of laughter.  Learn more about us at http://www.OPVMC.com/.

We offer a competitive compensation package including health, dental and vision insurance; CE allowance, association dues; license and professional liability reimbursement, student loan repayment, relocation assistance, life insurance and 401(K) plan with employer match. We also offer a signing bonus!

If you are interested in establishing a relationship with a privately owned veterinary practice that supports camaraderie, cares about you and offers an environment that balances work and life, please contact Allison Raffaele our Hospital Administrator at 716-662-6660, ext. 271 or contact Allison at araffaele@opvmc.net . We look forward to meeting you!!
