Full time, 35 hours/week

This is an excellent opportunity to join seven senior clinicians on our medicine team, and share supervision of our medicine services within our well-equipped teaching hospital. Our Small Animal Medicine service is in an exciting period of development and we are looking for an applicant who will be keen to contribute ideas and to play a major role in the implementation of state of the art diagnostic and therapeutic approaches as we move forward.

The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies is an ideal environment to develop or further nurture your clinical interests and research ambitions from a campus with strong collaborative links. The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies is situated on the Easter Bush Campus 6 miles south of Edinburgh on the edge of the Pentland Hills and houses outstanding teaching and clinical facilities as well as the Roslin Institute, one of the world’s leading veterinary research centres.

You must hold a degree in Veterinary Medicine and, at the time of appointment, be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. The postholder should have an ECVIM or ACVIM diploma. You will also have experience in teaching and clinical research in a veterinary school. Appointment is conditional on the University receiving a satisfactory Standard Disclosure check.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • MRCVS Registered or Eligible
  • ACVIM or ECVIM Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine
  • Experience of teaching undergraduate and post-graduate students
  • Research experience to allow contribution to R(D)SVS research goals
