Veterinary Referral Associates (VRA) is seeking a second board certified or residency trained medical oncologist to join our growing Oncology department!

VRA is an AAHA accredited 24 hour specialty and emergency hospital located in Gaithersburg, MD. VRA was founded in 1977 and we have been supplying top-notch specialty and emergency care to pets in the Washington, D.C. area since then. Our hospital is over 30,000 square feet and specialty services offered include medical and radiation oncology, internal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care, ophthalmology, anesthesiology, neurology, cardiology, radiology, acupuncture, physical rehabilitation, radioactive iodine treatment, and we just added an in-house pathology department. Our specialists and emergency veterinarians collaborate daily to provide the gold standard in patient care. Advanced diagnostic testing is available on-site, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, and an in house laboratory.  We also have an internship program every year and our interns rotate through emergency and all the various specialties. You can learn more about our hospital at https://vravet.com/

Our Oncology department is very well established in the community, allowing for a large and interesting caseload. We currently have one medical oncologist and one radiation oncologist. The oncology service has their own linear accelerator (the only one in Maryland), treatment area, chemotherapy room (USP800 compliant), experienced technicians who have worked in the department long term, and dedicated oncology exam rooms. Furthermore, we have a FT anesthesiologist, who helps enhance the safety of every patient undergoing anesthesia or requiring advanced pain management.

VRA is located in Gaithersburg, MD, which has plenty of dining, entertainment, shopping, and parks to enjoy, or you can take a 30 minute commute into Washington, D.C. and explore the historic sites, visit the National Zoo, or catch a game. D.C. has many professional sports teams.

At VRA, we take the health and well-being of our employees seriously, offering flexible working conditions and encouraging a well-rounded work/life balance. We offer a great compensation package, including a competitive salary, health insurance, 401K, PTO, generous CE allowance, additional PTO for CE, and reimbursement for membership and license fees. If this sounds like a team you want to be a part of, please email your resume to Dr. Shelly Wazyniak at swazyniak@petvetcarecenters.com or apply at https://www.petvetcareers.com/.
