The Washington State University (WSU) Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS) in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) in Pullman, WA seeks to fill a renewable career track (clinical track) full-time faculty position within the Agricultural Animal and Field Disease Investigation Units. The position is available at the Assistant or Associate Professor ranks (depending upon qualifications) and is available immediately. The successful applicant will join a dedicated team of faculty focused on multiple aspects of agricultural animal health including in-hospital and ambulatory clinical service, clinical and preclinical teaching, production/population medicine, extension, and research/scholarship. The successful applicant will be expected to provide clinical services, primarily in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), to a variety of livestock operations including beef (cow-calf and feedlot), dairy, small ruminant, camelids and swine. The position may include expectations for clinical and didactic instruction of veterinary students, interns, and residents, and collaborative or independent research/scholarship within the candidate’s area of interest. This position will involve communication with practitioners, owners and farm workers, as well as collaborative work with colleagues in the CVM and the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resources Sciences (CAHNRS).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Candidates must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or foreign equivalent degree (such as a BVSc) by the time of hire and demonstrated experience in an advanced clinical training program or multiple years of experience practicing food animal medicine. The successful applicant must demonstrate the ability to work collegially and collaboratively with internal and external constituents. A record of peer-reviewed scholarship appropriate to rank (Assistant or Associate) is expected.  Applicants for Associate Professor must have a significant record of scholarship, a higher level of national/international recognition, and a higher level of clinical and teaching experience.

Board certification or board-eligibility in a large animal/ag animal specialty (including American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine-Large Animal (LA-ACVIM); American Board of Veterinary Practitioner (ABVP) Dairy, Beef, or Food Animal Practice; American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (ACVPM)) at the time of hire is desirable.
