VCA Veterinary Specialist of CT is seeking a full time Experienced Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join the Neurology team at our 24-7 general, emergency and specialty hospital in West Hartford, CT. You've worked hard for your credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT) and we want you to use the knowledge that you've invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

Job Description
  • Manage appointments: obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.
  • Assist in patient procedures: preparation of patients, instruments, equipment and medications
  • Multitask and be a highly functional team member
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and complete

Skills and Qualifications -The successful Registered Veterinary Technician candidate will share VCA's commitment to delivering the highest quality patient care with exceptional client service. We seek a positive attitude and high energy along with:
  • Minimum 5 years veterinary experience
  • Advanced anesthesia experience
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary to include after hours on-call shifts
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Compassion for pets and people-as well as awareness and understanding of others' reactions.
  • Proven decision-making skills to choose the most appropriate course of action.
  • The ability to integrate new information into problem-solving.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with pets such as allergies, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste.
