VCA Veterinary Specialists of the Valley is seeking a Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our busy Internal Medicine Service. We are centrally located in Woodland Hills. We are close to beaches, mountains, trails, shopping, dining and many other fun activities. Our hospital offers state of the art diagnostics and expert staff. We look forward to working with YOU.

In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Duties will include:

  • Anesthesia monitoring experience required.
  • Collecting patient histories.
  • Performing physical exams.
  • Venipuncture/IVC placement.
  • Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
  • Creating individualized anesthetic protocols in collaboration with veterinarians.
  • Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services.
  • Assist in patient procedures: preparation of patients, instruments, equipment and medications.

The Internal Medicine Technicians work 4 10-hour shifts per week. Upon complete training with the Internal Medicine (commonly 3 months), individuals will train to perform on-call surgery duties, and will be included in an on-call rotation, which consists of one day a week. On call pay applies.
