Job Description:
VCA Animal Specialty Group located at 4641 Colorado Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90039 is a very busy, fast paced, referral based emergency and specialty hospital.
We specialize in Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology and 24 Emergency. We are located at the border of Glendale and Downtown, Los Angeles approximately 10 minutes from the LA Zoo.
We are looking for candidates that believe in high quality patient care. We're in search of Licensed Technicians to work in our Emergency and Specialty departments.
We are looking for qualified Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and Assistants that believe in high quality, compassionate care.
Ideal candidates are proficient at the following:
· Venipuncture and Cystos
· IV catheter placement, including sampling catheters and double/triple lumens
· Taking radiographs
· Anesthesia induction (if RVT), monitoring and recovery for major and minor surgeries
· Patient care (completing hourly treatments on critical and noncritical patients)
· Triage patients
· Be familiar with the CPR process
· Manage critical patients (recognize and respond to patients in distress)
· Blood type, cross match, and administer transfusions
· Calculate and prepare pressor CRIs
· Preparation and assisting during major surgeries and/or minor procedures
· Processing and evaluating in house and outside lab samples
· Filling prescriptions
· Communicating with clients (discharging, histories, demonstrations, etc)
· Restrain for exams, xrays, catheters, anesthesia induction, sample collections, etc.
