Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine in North Haven, Connecticut seeks a board certified veterinary cardiologist to join our team of two cardiologists. 

CHVM is a VECCS level 1 facility and our specialty departments include internal medicine, anesthesia, critical care, cardiology, radiology, surgery, behavior, dermatology, exotics, medical oncology, ophthalmology, interventional radiology, and physical rehabilitation. We are a fully staffed 24-hour emergency hospital with 32 doctors on staff, 18 of which are board certified. Over 75% of our technicians are certified. Equipment in the department includes a Vivid E9, Vivid iq, Veradius C-Arm, telemetry, holter monitors and EKGs.

CHVM is located in North Haven and Guilford, Connecticut, minutes from New Haven and Yale University.  New Haven is famous for its pizza and excellent restaurants and there are several large concert venues are also nearby.  North Haven is located on the beautiful shoreline of Connecticut with open access to the Long Island Sound, hiking, skiing, and numerous outdoor activities.  We are located less than 1.5 hours from New York City, and approximately 3 hours from Boston.

The ideal candidate is a team-oriented, motivated individual with a commitment to practicing the highest quality of medicine and surgery, an interest in collaborative care, and outstanding communication skills and a positive attitude.  The ideal candidate will thrive in a busy, fast-paced private practice environment.   

This position offers the recruited candidate excellent pay including a competitive base salary plus production, a retirement match, medical, dental, and vision insurance with optional health savings or a flexible spending account, as well as compensation for licensing and professional memberships/dues.  A continuing education stipend and paid vacation are also standard.

CHVM is the first facility of its kind to serve the veterinary referral community of Connecticut.  Built as an Emergency Center in 1974, we have since opened the doors to our brand new construction 20,000+ sq. ft. state of the art 24-hour facility at a new location in November 2013.   Our specialty departments include internal medicine, radiology, surgery, behavior, dermatology, exotics, medical oncology, ophthalmology, and physical rehabilitation. A regularly staffed IDEXX laboratory is housed on premises.  Much of the referral community is affluent, and motivated to seek specialty veterinary care.  Our caseload continues to grow exponentially since opening.
