Description
Queensland Veterinary Specialist’s (QVS) is seeking a registered specialist (or residency trained) in small animal veterinary medical oncology and internal medicine.
About Brisbane
Located in South East Queensland, Brisbane is Queensland’s capital, and is within easy reach of the both the Sunshine and Gold Coasts. There are truly great places to live, holiday, relax and play. From the city to the country, the beach to the rainforests, Queensland has it all. The World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef and islands are a short trip for a weekend away. Despite being Australia’s third most populous city (over 3.6 million), commute times are short, living is relaxed, schools are excellent, house blocks are large, and the people are easy going. It is a superb location to explore, play and raise a family.
About QVS
QVS is Australia’s longest established, privately owned 24/7 specialist hospital, in Brisbane, based across two sites at Stafford Heights and North Lakes. We are committed to providing compassionate, progressive, evidence-based care that supports the animal-owner bond. We are a diverse group of specialists, technicians and support members (numbering over 150) that work in a jovial, cohesive and enjoyable environment. Current disciplines include internal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care, theriogenology, dermatology, and cardiology with plans to expand beyond this.
Our world-class, purpose built, 1100m2 hospital will be opening in early 2022. The hospital is in Stafford and will complement our recently built hospital in North Lakes. Large investments have been made to ensure both hospitals are equipped to practice at the highest level. Facilities include a brand new 1.5 T Siemens MRI and CT, multiple digital radiography suites, Philips fluoroscopy, Esoate ultrasound machines, flexible and rigid endoscopy towers and diode and CO2 laser equipment. PetCT and RT are accessible.

The opportunity exists for one or more specialists in veterinary oncology and/or internal medicine to join a hospital with an established case load in each discipline. You will be warmly accepted by the staff and be supported in your pursuit to grow your respective service.
The working hours of the position are flexible and negotiable. The position will be either part or full-time depending on the availability of the successful applicant.
An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated, including four weeks’ annual leave, one week of study leave, 10 days sick leave and accrued long-service leave annually (full time pro-rata).
