Woodside Equine Clinic is hiring an internal medicine specialist to join our current team of surgeons and ambulatory veterinarians.  The internist would see acute medicine cases often needing hospitalization as well as outpatient cases. We see a number of sport horses needing consultation/examination for respiratory, gastrointestinal and other problems. Many of the medicine cases would be seen at the hospital but there is the need to see cases in the field as well. Afterhours emergencies would be received in a rotation with the surgeons supported by interns with assistance by our great team of technicians and assistants. The internist would collaborate and consult with Woodside and referring veterinarians.

Woodside Equine Clinic is an ambulatory and hospital-based practice located near Richmond, VA with a satellite practice 40 miles north. Currently on the veterinary team are 2 surgeons, a theriogenologist, a residency trained dentist and several doctors oriented toward sports medicine with backgrounds in ISELP, chiropractic and acupuncture as well as two interns.  In addition, we have a strong team of technicians, assistants and a great support staff.  We strive to have a positive work environment. We enjoy being a collaborative team and respect eachothers points of view. The practice encourages pursuing your areas of interests allowing you to grow and develop your skillset and expertise.

Our case load is predominately English sport horse. Many of our clients show hunters but there are dressage, jumpers, trail and many other disciplines in the area. We see many warm bloods along with thoroughbreds, ponies and may other breeds.  Our facilities include a hospital with 17 stalls, a temperature controlled isolation unit, a breeding facility and 2 rings for lameness evaluation.

Whether you are passionate about history, arts, gardens, antiques, fine dining, outdoor recreation, theme parks, or NASCAR, there's something for every taste in the historic Richmond region.  You can't beat the location with our proximity to the ocean, the mountains and Washington D.C.
