Clinical Instructor – Small Animal Internal Medicine
The Department of Medical Sciences of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Veterinary Medicine, invites applications for a full-time Clinical Instructor in Small Animal Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will join the Small Animal Internal Medicine section, which comprises of five ACVIM-Small Animal Internal Medicine diplomates and six small animal internal medicine residents.
The Clinical Instructor will provide up to 36 weeks of clinical service in Small Animal Internal Medicine, including clinical teaching of professional students, residents, and interns; didactic and laboratory teaching of pre-clinical veterinary medicine students as required; collaborative clinical research opportunities available to interested candidates. Some academic experience providing clinical service and teaching of students, interns and residents required.
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) required. Academic experience providing clinical service and teaching of students, interns and residents required. Must have either a Wisconsin post graduate training veterinary license or Wisconsin license on or before you begin employment with SVM
Extensive opportunities for collaborative research and teaching exist within the School of Veterinary Medicine and the UW- Madison campus. The School of Medicine & Public Health, the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, the School of Pharmacy, the Biotechnology Center, and the School of Education are located within a short distance of the School of Veterinary Medicine on the UW-Madison campus. A close relationship also exists with the Wisconsin State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory which is located within the same footprint on campus as the School of Veterinary Medicine. UW- Madison considers the School of Veterinary Medicine to be a major factor in its overall success as a top five university in terms of awarded federal funding.
SVM is in the midst of construction of a new facility that will improve instruction space for students, double the size of the school's small animal hospital and significantly enhance the large animal hospital, expand labs for studying naturally occurring animal and human diseases, and increase and modernize infectious disease research space.
