Job Details

Pieper Veterinary is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained internist to join our Internal Medicine department. This busy and growing service is run by two boarded internists. Our team consists of exceptional nurses and assistants, a department-specific client liaison, two Internal Medicine interns and typically a rotating intern.

Pieper Memorial is a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital in Middletown, CT. Our specialty teams include emergency & critical care, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, neurology, surgery, and oncology. Specialty departments work collaboratively as a team, conferring on cases to ensure we explore every option in the treatment of our patients. The hospital also runs a robust rotating internship program.  We are also very proud to be a VECCS Level I certified emergency and critical care facility.

We are committed to providing our clinicians with the tools that they need to perform advanced diagnostics and treatments, ensuring that patients get the best care available. Our state-of-the-art facilities include multiple ultrasounds, wireless Fukuda Denshi telemetry, 64-slice CT, 1.5 T MRI, C-Arm with neurovascular platform, Maquet Servo-U ventilator with NAVA and volumetric capnography, minimally invasive surgical equipment, on-site Antech reference diagnostic laboratory, and a fully equipped physical therapy department. Scoping equipment includes multiple flexible and rigid scopes with 2 scope towers. We have four surgical suites equipped for general, orthopedic, neurologic, and soft tissue surgery.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated with excellent multi-tasking skills and can contribute to our high standard of patient care, client service, and collaboration with both specialists and local referring veterinarians. You will have the opportunity to grow professionally with the hospital and build and sustain strong relationships with referring colleagues, clients, and support staff.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package including licensing fees, membership dues, health insurance, life insurance, 401(k) with contribution eligibility, continuing education, relocation assistance, PTO, and more. Full-time positions consist of work weeks that offer an optimal balance between work and personal life. Salary is commensurate with experience with an added production bonus.

Middletown is a thriving college town located in the heart of the beautiful Connecticut River Valley between NYC and Boston. You’ll be surrounded by the famed beauty of New England with easy access to the shoreline, Hartford, New Haven, and international airports.

We are also open to IM Locum candidates for November 2022 through February 2023 with part-time or full-time options.  The Internal Medicine Department is a busy service with strong patient care and a high procedure load.  The team environment is important at Pieper and we can be flexible on responsibilities based on the candidate.
