The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an Equine/Large Animal Internal Medicine Lecturer (clinical instructor) for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Washington State University. The term of the initial appointment is one year.  The appointment may be renewed based on need, performance and availability of funds. Responsibilities include equine internal medicine clinical service and instruction of students, interns, residents and technicians within the service.  Opportunities to participate in agricultural animal clinical rotations, to teach labs, to collaborate in clinical research and to participate in CE on a local and/or regional level exist and could be incorporated into position expectations. The position is available immediately.  Individuals finishing their third year of large animal internal medicine residency are encouraged to apply. The equine/large animal division at Washington State University is comprised of 2 surgeons, 2 internists and 2 theriogenologists, all of whom are diplomates of their specialty, as well as five (5) residents and three (3) interns.

Qualifications:  The candidate must possess a DVM or equivalent degree (such as BVSc), have completed an approved Large Animal Internal Medicine residency training program before date of hire and have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people in a team atmosphere.  Preferred qualifications include ACVIM or ECVIM Large Animal Internal Medicine specialty certification; experience in clinical and lab instruction/teaching; and supervision of house officers and technical staff.
