Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine in North Haven, Connecticut seeks a board certified veterinary internist
Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine (CHVM) is looking for a fourth internist to join our team. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented, motivated individual with a commitment to practicing the highest quality of medicine and surgery, an interest in collaborative care, and outstanding communication skills and a positive attitude. The ideal candidate will thrive in a busy, fast-paced private practice environment. Interest in Interventional Radiology is a plus.
This position offers the recruited candidate excellent pay including a competitive base salary plus production, a retirement match, medical, dental, and vision insurance with optional health savings or a flexible spending account, as well as compensation for licensing and professional memberships/dues. A continuing education stipend and paid vacation are also standard.
CHVM is the first facility of its kind to serve the veterinary referral community of Connecticut. Built as an Emergency Center in 1974, we have since opened the doors to two state of the art 24-hour facilities. We moved into the first 20,000 sf building in North Haven in November 2013. The second 5,000 sf was added in Guilford last year. Our specialty departments include internal medicine, critical care, cardiology, radiology, surgery, behavior, dermatology, exotics, anesthesia, medical oncology, ophthalmology, interventional radiology, and physical rehabilitation. Much of the referral community is affluent, and motivated to seek specialty veterinary care. Our caseload continues to grow exponentially since opening.
CHVM is located in North Haven, Connecticut, minutes from New Haven and Yale University. North Haven is located on the beautiful shoreline of Connecticut with open access to the Long Island Sound, hiking, skiing, and numerous outdoor activities. Several large concert venues are also nearby. New Haven County is home to many excellent school districts, beautiful residential neighborhoods, pastoral countryside property, beachfront amenities, and centuries of rich New England history. We are located less than 1.5 hours from New York City, and approximately 3 hours from Boston. Yankees and Red Sox fans are equally encouraged to apply.
Full time is preferred but part time would be considered. Individuals who have completed residency training, or individuals with credentials accepted by ACVIM are encouraged to apply.
