Carolina Veterinary Specialists (CVS) is seeking an internist to join its practice in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. CVS Winston-Salem is a part of a corporate group of six specialty hospitals within the Carolinas. The practice in Winston-Salem offers a particularly relaxed, fun-loving, collaborative work environment. CVS supports their doctors to cultivate healthy work-life balance, providing both optimal professional success and fulfilling personal independence through a forgiving on-call schedule and four-day workweek. This position is the destination for someone seeking the satisfaction and fruits of working in a busy clinical practice but with the peace of mind in knowing that the on-going cases they leave behind will continue to receive outstanding care by extremely competent colleagues.
CVS offers a competitive compensation package and benefits plan. But it is the culture within and out that makes CVS outstanding. North Carolina is inarguably a superior place to live! Winston-Salem is “the city of arts and innovation” and is growing rapidly. It is nestled within sight of the foothills of gorgeous mountains and endless outdoor and adventure activities. The beaches of North Carolina are some of the most beautiful in world. The weather is sub-tropical with mild winters and warm summers. One of the most appealing aspects of living in Winston-Salem is the bang you get for your buck. The area offers one of the lowest costs of living in the country without sacrificing cosmopolitan culture. This year the Wall Street Journal published Winston Salem in their list of “low-cost cities with strong economies.” Beautiful housing is affordable, and taxes are ranked low. Winston-Salem has seen a surge in growth and revitalization in the downtown area with hotels, restaurants, and apartments. In 2017, the New York Times ranked the city SECOND in their list of the most livable downtowns in America. The combination of low cost of living and CVS’ high caseload creates the circumstances for being financially very-well compensated.
CVS readily acknowledges the market for recruiting specialists is currently in the favor of those seeking jobs. It can sometimes be difficult to discern what makes a practice more desirable than others. This practice is truly special because of the staff, which work well together and have high morale. We are seeking someone who will join us with a positive attitude, a good sense of humor and a strong work ethic.
Come enjoy the southern hospitality of our delightful clients. They are eager to seek advanced care for their pets. They are able to pay for services rendered and they express gratitude through praise, gifts and personal referrals.
Please contact CVS’s staff internist, Susan M. Simmerson, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM) with your questions regarding the Internal Medicine service and the opportunities of working at CVS.
