We are looking for an Internal Medicine Specialist or someone with a special interest in medicine.

Join a highly skilled and experienced team of vets and support staff.

Work in a state-of-the-art facility with new CT scanner

Be rewarded with a generous salary and benefits reflective of the experience you bring

Rangiora Veterinary Centre was established in the 1960’s and is located on the outskirts of Rangiora a thriving rural town, 25 minutes north of Christchurch, New Zealand. We are a 24/7, 365 day a year facility with several of our veterinarians holding post-graduate qualifications in surgery, emergency & critical care, ophthalmology, dermatology, and dentistry. RVC is a busy general practice servicing a local population of over 60000 people and receiving referrals from all over the South Island, NZ.

In 2014 we moved to a brand-new facility, offering three custom designed theatres, one of which is dedicated to orthopaedic surgery. We have full in-house laboratory facilities and comprehensive diagnostic imaging including ultrasound, digital DR X-ray, endoscopy and a new Canon 78 cm bore 128 slice CT scanner.

We are seeking an internal medicine specialist who is looking to work in a practice with a wide and varied caseload and who enjoys mentoring other team members. You would lead the medical care in the practice that serves a supportive and committed urban and rural clientele, as well as general practices scattered throughout Canterbury and the South Island. Enhancing Lives Together is our purpose and we strive to be a centre of veterinary excellence and innovation.

You will join a team that promotes and encourages collegiality, communication and individual wellbeing. We have a dedicated wellbeing committee and several in-house initiatives to support and enhance your personal wellbeing.

To be successful in this role, you will be a recognised companion animal Internal Medicine and have achieved Dipl ACVIM, Dipl ECVIM, FANZCVS, or equivalent qualification, such that it will be eligible for Specialist Registration with the New Zealand Veterinary Council (VCNZ). We would also welcome enquiries from registrars who have completed their residency training and/or are in the process of sitting their appropriate Board examinations. You are welcome to email us for more information about this.

Above all else, we value someone who is committed to providing patient care of the highest standard and who shares our values of excellence, empathy, innovation and team and community.

Join our RVC family and enjoy the benefits:

  • Be rewarded with a generous salary and benefits reflective of the experience you bring to the position ($135K - $180K NZD)
  • If applicable, we will support you with visa application, New Zealand Veterinary Registration and provide you with tailored relocation support to suit your situation
  • Generous study leave and continuing education allowance ($3500 NZD, 5 days)
  • Excellent work life balance
