The Department of Veterinary Biosciences (VBS), College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), in conjunction with the world-class NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) at The Ohio State University (OSU) is seeking applicants for 4 full-time tenure track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
The OSU Health Sciences campus is comprised of all major health science professions: Pharmacy, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Optometry, Nursing, Allied Medical Professions, Public Health and Biomedical Sciences. These academic units are co-located and include a broad array of shared resources, the CCC, Center for Clinical and Translational Science, College of Engineering, College of Arts and Sciences, Mathematical Biosciences Institute, Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center, Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute, Institute for Materials Research, Center for Retrovirus Research, Infectious Disease Institute, and Drug Development Institute among others. The CVM has established the Signature Program in Comparative and Translational Oncology as a central research focus of the college, and this includes the Veterinary Medical Center Integrated Oncology (IO) Service consisting of 9 board-certified faculty specialists in medical, surgical, and radiation oncology. Applications by candidates who can engage in collaborative research efforts with other Signature Program members in the CVM, Veterinary Medical Center (VMC), and OSUCCC are encouraged, particularly in focus areas that include sarcomas, lymphomas, radiotherapy, cancer imaging, immuno-oncology, experimental therapeutics, and/or translational clinical trials in tumor-bearing dogs.
We are seeking basic and translational scientists with outstanding academic credentials, a strong record of scholarly productivity, and a demonstrated emphasis on cancer research. Requirements include a doctorate degree (PhD, DVM, MD, or equivalent) and a demonstrated record of, or potential for, extramural funding. The successful applicants must also possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate effectiveness in teamwork.
