About QVS:
QVS is Australia’s longest established, privately owned 24/7 specialist hospital, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Based across two sites, QVS is within easy reach of the CBD and the beautiful Sunshine Coast and the scenic Gold Coast. We are committed to providing compassionate, progressive, evidence-based care that supports the animal-owner bond. We are a diverse group of specialists, technicians and support members (numbering over 150) that work in a jovial, cohesive and enjoyable environment. Current disciplines include internal medicine, surgery, radiology, anaesthesia and analgesia, emergency and critical care, theriogenology, dentistry, dermatology, and cardiology.
We have two world-class, purpose-built hospitals in Stafford and North Lakes. Large investments have been made to ensure both hospitals are equipped to practice at the highest level. Facilities include a brand new 1.5 T Siemens MRI and CT, multiple digital radiography suites, Philips fluoroscopy, Esoate ultrasound machines, flexible and rigid endoscopy towers and diode and CO2 laser equipment.
About Brisbane:
South East Queensland is home to Queensland’s capital Brisbane as well as the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast. There are truly great places to live, holiday, relax and play. From the city to the country, the beach to the rainforests, Queensland has it all. The World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef and islands are a short trip for a weekend away. Despite being Australia’s third most populous city (over 3.6 million), commute times are short, living is relaxed, schools are excellent, house blocks are large, and the people are easy going. It is a superb location to explore, play and raise a family. The opportunity exists for one or more specialists or registrars in veterinary oncology to join a hospital with an established case load in each discipline. You will be warmly accepted by the staff and be supported in your pursuit to expand your respective service.
The Position:
The working hours of the position are flexible and negotiable. The position will be either part- or full-time (full time = 4 days) depending on the availability of the successful applicant.
An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated, including four weeks’ annual leave, one week of study leave, 10 days sick leave and accrued long-service leave annually (full time pro-rata).
On offer:
- Excellent salary and bonus arrangements
- Financial assistance with relocation support
- Yearly continuing education grant
- Sponsorship (Work visa) for suitably qualified overseas applicants
