Job Details
Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center is expanding, and we are looking for a veterinary cardiologist to join our fantastic VECCS Level I hospital in Middletown, CT. Locum opportunities are also available!
Owned and operated by veterinarians since 1937, our family of hospitals also includes four primary care hospitals and one urgent hospital in central Connecticut. We are also thrilled to announce that we will be opening a brand new, state-of-the-art hospital in Stratford, CT later this fall. Our network of doctors provides a one-of-a-kind community that supports each other and grows together.
At Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center, you will join a collaborative team of specialists in Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Avian/Exotics, and Oncology as well as a seasoned team of primary and emergency veterinarians.
Our state-of-the-art facility includes multiple ultrasounds, wireless Fukuda Denshi telemetry, 64-slice CT, 1.5 T MRI, C-Arm with neurovascular platform, Maquet Servo-U ventilator with NAVA and volumetric capnography and minimally invasive surgical equipment. As an added bonus, we enjoy an Antech reference laboratory in the building with an on-site clinical pathologist.
We prioritize a doctor-led, medicine first approach and are proud to offer equity options to our veterinarians. We believe in an integrated veterinary system that brings together veterinarians and medical teams from every type of practice to support our community. Pieper Veterinary is committed to education and in addition to our rotating and specialty internships and residencies partners with Middlesex Community College to provide clinical training for their AVMA accredited veterinary technology program.
Our benefits package includes equity options, sign-on bonuses, fully paid short-term disability, 401K with match, and a generous pet care discount.

Company
Pieper Veterinary is in the unique position of being able to offer the resources of a large practice with the values and culture of a small, family-owned business. With roots in the local community dating back to 1933, Pieper Veterinary was originally established as a mixed animal practice by Dr. Niel Pieper, with the goal of providing the highest standard of care to both patients and clients. Today, Pieper Veterinary is a hub and spokes model practice, featuring four general practice hospitals supported by two emergency and specialty centers, located throughout the Connecticut River Valley. We are proud to be able to offer the most advanced technology and diagnostics to our patients, while still maintaining the feeling of community and family that the Pieper name has come to stand for.
We are also very proud to be a VECCS Level I certified emergency & critical care facility.
