Job Details

Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) is looking for a Chief Medical Officer / Medical Director to join our amazing team of doctors. The Chief Medical Officer / Medical Director will report directly to the Group President and work alongside our Hospital Director to encourage positive collaboration and be responsible for working directly with specialists and our medical team to evaluate best practices and implement medical protocols that directly support patients, staff and the referring veterinarians in our community.

Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists has served Texas pets, their owners, and referral veterinarians for over 30 years.  Our core values of Compassion, Ethics, Knowledge, Collaboration, and Quality guide all of our decision-making and provide a framework that enables us to provide best-in-class medicine.  Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists partnered with the Compassion-First Pet Hospitals in 2016 to accelerate our growth and network with other best-in-class specialty and emergency hospitals. Our new 57,000 sq ft. facility has a 1.5 T MRI, 64 slice CT, a Varian Halcyon radiation therapy system capable of advanced radiation therapy modalities, and an Interventional Radiology Suite.

Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists offers a competitive compensation package and a full range of benefits, including health, dental, vision, long-term disability, life insurance, time off for vacation and CE, and a 401(k) plan.

Compassion-First and NVA recognize that we share deep-rooted values and priorities. For years, our dedication to Specialty and Emergency medicine has been a common background.

Our groups have long shared the belief that the best patient care comes from championing hospitals in their local communities and supporting the practices and culture that have made them successful. We believe in empowering veterinarians and their teams with deeper resources so they can do more of what’s already working.

Combining our strengths gives us the opportunity to make a lasting and positive impact on the profession, our people, and the care of animals.

This is The Power of Us. Great medicine comes from great people who band together for the momentum to grow, flourish and practice advanced care.

As one of the only dedicated Specialty and Emergency groups in the industry, NVA Compassion-First is the trusted partner of hospital teams who are looking for more—more resources to advance their medicine, a greater sense of belonging, and increased opportunities to care for their patients, clients and people.
