Cardiologist at Blackford Vet

Blackford Veterinary Surgery Referral is looking for a Cardiology Specialist ( board certified or residency trained) to start and build the Cardiology department at our rapidly growing specialty center in west Knoxville, TN.  

Blackford Vet is a fully privately- and family-owned referral specialty center established in 1997.  In 2021, our hospital was fully renovated and increased in size with expectation of expanding our specialty practice into Cardiology.  Referring veterinarians from all over our service area consistently request cardiology care, and we are hopeful to be able to provide that to our clients in the very near future.  Current specialists at Blackford Vet include 2 full-time and 1 part-time ACVS surgeons, and 1 residency trained internal medicine specialist.  We are also home to a CCRP certified rehabilitation technician and fully-equipped rehabilitation wing.

The ideal candidate for this position would be a specialist who desires to lead their very own cardiology service with the support of a well-established and trusted referral hospital.  We are poised to provide full support through workspace, desired specialized equipment, staff, and anything else a budding and state-of-the-art cardiology department might need.

Our clinic does not have an emergency department, and we refer our patients that need significant post-treatment care, which means NO ON-CALL OR WEEKEND work requirement for a new Cardiologist.
