Virginia Veterinary Specialists (VVS) is a privately owned, small animal, multi-specialty referral practice located in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia. We are seeking to add a board-certified or residency-trained associate internist to our team of specialists.

Beautifully situated in the eastern foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, Charlottesville is consistently ranked as one of the top ten best places to live in the country. Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking the trails along the Blue Ridge Parkway; a history buff wanting to learn more about Thomas Jefferson, Monticello and the University of Virginia, or you enjoy being a part of an eclectic community filled with arts and entertainment, Charlottesville offers something for everyone.

VVS first started serving the community in April 2010. We quickly established ourselves as a leading provider of compassionate, advanced, specialty veterinary care in Central Virginia.  We are seeking to expand our staff in order to better serve the needs of our referring veterinarians and the community.

As a multi-specialty practice, VVS currently staffs a team of three board-certified (SA) surgeons, three board-certified (SA) internists, one board-certified cardiologist, and a board-certified oncologist. Our staff consists of approximately 25 licensed veterinary technicians and an additional team of 30+ support staff and administrators.

Our Internal Medicine department is supported by all of the tools, technology, and experienced staff that is needed to provide optimum patient care and diagnostics.  We are fully equipped with routine in-house lab equipment, flexible and rigid endoscopy, laparoscopy, digital radiology, color-flow doppler ultrasound, and computed tomography.

VVS offers a generous compensation package including:

  • 100% EMPLOYER paid health, vision, and dental benefits.
  • Employer provided mental health care through Samata Health.
  • Very competitive compensation, based on experience.
  • A generous CE allowance.
  • Annual scrub allowance.
  • Corporate ACAC gym membership.
  • Employer paid Life insurance and LTD policies.
  • Generous PTO.
  • 401(k) with practice match/profit sharing.

If you are highly motivated, compassionate and driven to provide the highest standard of patient care to reach the best possible outcome, we would love to hear from you!
