Integrity Veterinary Center (IVC) is looking for another medical oncologist to expand our oncology team! Our oncology service is quite busy, with fantastic clients and patients. We have a fully USP 800 compliant chemotherapy administration suite (affectionately called the chemotherapy pod), as well as an exceptional team of oncology nurses. Three of our oncology nurses are fully chemotherapy trained, and one is a VTS (IM). Our two junior oncology nurses are learning quickly, and we are incredibly proud of them.
IVC is a multispecialty and urgent care hospital in Northampton, MA. We opened in October of 2022 with medical oncology, outpatient ultrasound services, urgent care, and internal medicine, and we are currently interviewing board-certified surgeons to open our surgery service. We have an existing urgent care service, and we are gradually expanding this to offer ER services over the course of the next year. For specialists, we currently have a board-certified oncologist, internist, and criticalist on staff. We are committed to practicing the highest standard of medicine, with the aim of helping each patient live comfortably and happily for as long as possible. We are a privately owned hospital with no plans for corporate affiliation.
High case volumes and widespread staffing shortages are leading to burnout across the field of veterinary medicine. Given this, our aim is to cultivate a healthy and sustainable working environment for our whole team.
More specifically, we prioritize work-life balance, competitive salary (straight salary, pro-sal, and straight production options available, depending on your preference), appropriate staffing ratios, kindness and respect (zero tolerance for abusive behavior from clients), and honest/open communication practices. We believe non-compete and non-solicitation agreements are generally harmful to our profession, and therefore we do not use them.
In addition to vacation and CE time, our benefits include health and dental insurance, pet insurance stipend, uniform and shoe stipend, 401k, CE/discretionary stipend, liability insurance, and reimbursement for your MA, MCSR, and DEA licenses. As a specialist at IVC, you will have the opportunity to choose a schedule of shifts that is sustainable for you. If there are other benefits that you have in mind, please ask!
IVC is located in Northampton, Massachusetts, about 3 hours from NYC and 1.5-2 hours from Boston. It’s hard to write a city description without it sounding unhelpfully generic, so here are some of our favorite things about Northampton:
-Cafes: The best eclairs in existence can be found at the Woodstar Cafe. We also love the coffee and matcha at Familiars, the lunch sandwiches at the Roost, and the delicious smoothies (and the community support/activism) at the Haymarket.
-Restaurants: Noodles (Northampton) makes delicious Asian noodle soups, rice bowls, and traditional Thai style salads. Both Amanouz and Mosaic have fantastic Moroccan food (plus a wide selection of crepes), and Daily Operation in nearby Easthampton has a variety of farm-centric, mostly American-style options with occasional bonus live music.
-Outdoor Adventures: There are plenty of hiking trails, a climbing gym in nearby Hadley, and a variety of running and cycling clubs. There’s a giant hill on the Smith College campus which is absolutely fantastic for sledding. Ask our doctors about their favorite kayaking spots!
-Indoor Activities: Easthampton Clay offers regular pottery classes, and we promise you’ve never been to a bigger yarn store than Webs. There are numerous new and used book shops in and around Northampton, and the Baker’s Pin hosts regular (virtual and in-person) cooking and baking classes.
