Clinical and/or basic science research experience is desirable but not required. Opportunities for collaborative research exist at AMC, as well as with Weill Cornell Medical College and NYU campuses in town.

The Cardiology Department includes experienced, licensed technicians (LVTs), two ACVIM cardiology diplomates, two cardiology residents, and a rotating intern.

We have a GE Vivid 9 ultrasound system with 3 echo-pac stations for post-processing and report writing, a GE image vault server accessing all echocardiograms performed during the past 25 years, a mobile GE echo machine with TEE probe, electronic electrocardiograph, Lifepak defibrillators, Biotronik and Medtronic pacemaker interrogators, and Holter recorders. Cardiology has use of our state-of-the-art interventional radiology catheterization laboratory on-site. In addition, our 24/7 ICU is equipped with an efficient telemetry system.

The AMC has many resources. Diagnostic imaging services are provided 7 days per week. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are available on-site. A commercial diagnostic laboratory housed within AMC provides 7-day per week service and an on-site clinical pathologist.

We are proud of our great team of veterinarians who offer a wide range of specialties including anatomic pathology, anesthesiology, cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, exotic pet medicine, internal medicine (with dialysis), interventional radiology and endoscopy, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, radiation oncology, rehabilitation and integrative medicine, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, and surgical oncology.
