We are currently seeking candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track, faculty position in Small Animal Medical Oncology at the level of Clinical Instructor or Assistant Clinical Professor at the Veterinary Health Center - Wentzville satellite teaching clinic. The is a progressive clinical practice where there is a culture of collegiality and patient care is top priority. This University of Missouri satellite facility located in the St. Louis suburb of Wentzville, MO offers specialty care for the St. Louis metropolitan area. The successful candidate will join an established medical oncologist to build the practice and meet the high demand for cancer care in the St. Louis area.

Incumbents will join a dynamic team in Wentzville. In addition to two Medical Oncologists, the on-site clinic team includes a board-certified small animal internist, a staff veterinarian and clinic manager, an experienced group of registered veterinary technicians, a full-time receptionist, and an office supervisor and business manager. Additionally, radiation therapy can be provided in Wentzville by clinicians who travel from the main Veterinary Health Center in Columbia and surgical oncology services are available in Columbia.

The Wentzville clinic works as part of the comprehensive oncology service of the MU Columbia campus for collaborative case care and research. Veterinary students, interns and residents are offered clinical rotations at the Wentzville location. The VHC-Wentzville has a CT scanner and availability of an ultrasound service. Technology is utilized to allow remote attendance and contribution to multiple types of rounds throughout each workweek. This position has the benefits of working within the academic community with all its support and professional development opportunities while maintaining the efficiency of private practice. As part of this appointment, incumbents' duties will include:

• Participating in a busy and progressive oncology service.
• Teaching students (professional and graduate students) and house officers in clinical and didactic settings.
• Scholarly activity. For a non-tenure track individual, this will include collaboration on clinical research projects, authorship of book chapters, reviews, or other activities relating to oncology or education.
• Participation in NCI Comparative Oncology Trials Consortium (COTC) and industry and foundation sponsored trials.
• Participate in faculty governance activities as feasible.

Minimum Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree (such as a VMD, BVSc) prior to appointment start date.
• Completion of Veterinary Oncology residency program by appointment start date.

Candidates will be evaluated on:

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a regular or faculty license to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Missouri.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain DEA and BNDD certificates.
• Eligibility and potential for Board certification (ACVIM, Specialty of Oncology).
• Candidate's clinical experience, communication skills, experience working in dynamic environments, passion for teaching, and desire for continuous professional growth and development.
