With the motto "Special Care from the Heart," California Veterinary Specialists (CVS) is one of the nation's leading providers of advanced veterinary services for pets in need of specialty and emergency care. Our board certified team of specialists and experienced emergency doctors work collaboratively to provide the best integrated veterinary care available and are looking to add a compassionate and skilled full-time Medical Oncologist to our team. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work a flexible 4-day workweek while enjoying a generous paid 4-weeks vacation (in addition to 1 week paid CE and 1 week paid sick time) per year.
As a Veterinary Oncologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing cancer cases in animals. This includes developing personalized treatment plans, administering chemotherapy, and monitoring patients throughout their treatment journey.
Our well-established oncology support team is truly superb-efficient, knowledgeable, and dedicated to ensuring your days run smoothly. Their expertise and commitment make a real difference in patient care and overall experience. In addition to working with our superb oncology team, you'll have the opportunity to utilize a human scribe for your records. Many of our specialists find this service to be a significant time-saver, allowing them to focus on patient care while also improving their work-life balance. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of veterinarians (including our specialists in internal medicine, surgery, critical care, cardiology, dentistry and dermatology) and support staff to deliver outstanding oncology care.

With the creation of VCA's Pet CancerCare Alliance, you can be a part of a unique brain trust of over 65 veterinary oncologists and a network of over 35 Pet CancerCare Centers across North America. Our Medical, Radiation and Surgical Oncologists work together to bring advanced treatments, technology and education to all veterinarians by providing collaborative care, research, clinical trials and leadership to help ensure that pets are living their best possible lives.
You'll have access to our in-house specialists (including emergency and critical care, surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, dermatology and dental specialists), network of sister hospital specialists, as well as medical leaders who are there to champion you and your medicine. You'll work with highly-trained colleagues and have advanced tools and treatments at your fingertips, including CT scanner, in house and point-of-care diagnostic laboratory, ultrasonography, echocardiography, digital radiology, endoscopy, blood product and donor program, and more in our over 12,000 square foot hospital.
