Our core values—do the right thing, fun, wow service, trust, respect, responsibility, integrity, compassion, knowledge, and loyalty—guide everything we do at Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists.

When you join our amazing team, you will be working closely with our Medical Director and Internist, Dr. Emily Medici and Dr. Andy Novosad, Head of our Oncology Department.

Dr. Medici is originally from Baton Rouge, LA and received her DVM degree from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.  She practiced in a small animal private practice for two years before entering a small animal Internal Medicine residency at Oklahoma State University which she completed in 2009.  She practiced for two years in Kansas in a specialty clinic before deciding she missed the South.

Dr. Andy Novosad is a native Houstonian and graduate of Memorial High School.  He pursued his undergraduate education and earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 from Louisiana State University.  The Animal Medical Center in New York City, with its high caseload, was his choice for internship in small animal medicine and surgery.   Dr. Novosad remained at The Animal Medical Center in their medical oncology residency program, which he completed in 2002.  After successfully completing the Board Examination, he was awarded Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Oncology Specialty.  Dr. Novosad then moved back to Texas, accepting a position as Head of the Oncology Department at the Animal Diagnostic Clinic in Dallas.  His professional interests include lymphoma, leukemia, melanoma and mammary tumors.  He is the author of many scientific articles and book chapters on a variety of oncological topics.

Our Hospital:

In addition to medical oncology, our team offers emergency care, critical care, diagnostic imaging, ICU, internal medicine, neurology, surgery, and radiation oncology.  We are well equipped with digital radiography, a 16 slice CT with 3D recon abilities, Halcyon Linear Accelerator, an ultrasound, MRI, and a full in-house laboratory. We offer fluoroscopy and laparoscopy and have scope towers for urinary, gastrointestinal, nasal, and orthopedic cases.  We have a great atmosphere and established referral base.
